Transmission maintenance is important.  Prolonged periods of low transmission fluid levels and the presence of transmission fluid leaks are the most common signs of a faulty transmission. This can lead to expensive damage.

Why you need to change the filter and fluid in your auto transmission regularly

  • Just like the engine oil in your vehicle, the transmission fluid in your automatic transmission breaks down and can become contaminated. It is important to have a regular transmission flush and fluid change to help prolong the life of your transmission.
  • Transmission breakdowns can be very expensive but a preventative transmission flush is a fraction of the cost. Automatic transmissions typically fail due to internally overheating. This is usually a direct result of poor maintenance.

We recommend a Transmission Flush be carried out every 40,000-50,000 kms

Manual Transmission - Servicing

  • Manual transmission oils break down and can become contaminated. It is important to have a regular oil change to help prolong the life of your transmission.

Automatic Transmission - Rebuilds

When your auto transmission requires extensive work, you have the option to have it overhauled and re-installed in your vehicle, or to replace it with another.

The transmission will be removed it from your vehicle so that we can inspect each component individually. If it is damaged or not functioning properly, we’ll replace it. Parts with friction surfaces, for instance clutches and bands, often need to be replaced, as will the torque converter. We also replace soft components such as seals and gaskets. Other parts that are good for many miles to come we’ll give a thorough clean and put back in their place.

Manual Transmission - Rebuilds

A thorough repair job on a manual gearbox requires the complete dismantling of the gearbox. Every part is stripped down and inspected, ensuring that it has not suffered damage. We replace all damaged parts, as well as soft components and consumables. All parts that are still serviceable for the long run are cleaned thoroughly and re-installed. Alternatively we can install a used transmission to lower the expense to you – It is your choice.
